If you are going over there take some with you , As long as its a sealed JAR and you declare it on the way in , that will be fine.
We took some with us last time we went to the USA , no problems , and having a food item to declare gets you through customs faster !
Been to the Big Apple; no idea where to buy Vegemite. Tried bagels with cream cheese?
We lived in Denver for a while - you should try the (wait for it…) health food shop! Or the “Natural Food” places - where they sell organic stuff. They are quite easy to find, and that’s where the natural, healthy, organic Vegemite gravitates too.
You might also find some edible bread, so that’s a plus!
a sugestion go to the cosulant and ask for aus/trade they will tell you as they deal in exports to the u.s.a. all will cost you is time you could all so do it from here good luck veg rules big fella tours
we have some news the piss brewery will be our next report look out for it as you like beer as i do thanks big fella
A little while ago the US was going to ban vegemite as it contains folic acid, which is illegal in food over there, except for a few items. I have no idea if this ever came to fruition as it seems rather extreme. Can someone send some over to you. That is what I had done when I was over there for summer camp years ago.
My brother has just come back from three weeks in the USA. He took a small jar of Vegemite with him for breakfast. He did the right thing and declared it and it was confiscated at LAX airport.
The Australian icon has been deemed illegal in the US due to the classification of an ingredient. Because Vegemite contains added folate, which is now only allowed in breads and cereals, officials have began confiscating jars at the border.
Here is an article on the topic: http://www.adelaider.com/?thread=7585

When I lived in Manhattan (up to 2 years ago) you could buy Vegemite at the Indian groceries at the south end of Lexington Ave
You might be able to get it at Myer’s & Keswick (a British food store) in Greenwich Village. Last time I was there (a few months ago) they only had marmite, but said they were waiting on a shipment which contained vegemite.
