Anywhere like that in Melbourne? Sick of clubs with sticky carpet, crap DJs and full of sweaty blokes and teenagers.

For some reason I can’t read anymore than the first line or two of this post. Been to the Supper Club in Amsterdam. Pretty cool but it’s probably become to destination now to really be edgy. I’m not aware of anything quite like it here, but didn’t I read in Melbourne Leader a while back that everyone was doing theme nights these days?
Natster - is there more to your post than the heading? Maybe there is a glitch in this theme? (It was showing a problem with line 181 earlier). Swap themes to check.
You could try Phoenix, a wee bar next to the old Herald Sun building on Wellington St. Nice people, big couches (that don’t smell like they belong to a chain-smoking saint bernard), reasonably priced drinks and low lighting. No DJ but a good place to yak with mates. I’m convinced it hasn’t changed more than a coat of paint since the 60s.

Eve is South Melbourne (near MacDonalds and BP) is awesome! It’s a mixture of everything I love! DJs are exceptional, the music is loud enough to dance to but not too loud that you can’t hold a conversation.
The actual venue is really nice, very clean, no sticky floors and LADIES THERE ARE LOTS OF BATHROOMS!
The crowd consists of very well dressed upperclass 20-40 year-olds, mostly extremely good looking.
Eve is predominantly non-smoking with a courtyard for those who like to smoke their lives away!
There is a small dance-floor which lights up (yes, the actualy floor lights up different colours!), there are 2 bars which serve really nice drinks but at a slightly higher price, there’s a room for those who want to chat, or have a rest from dancing and a courtyard for smokers.
They also have function rooms but i think it’s quite expensive to hire one but they’re really nice!
Sometimes there are B grade celebs there, nothing too special!
Very cosy place, I love it! give it a try!
